Slacking

Seems like we've been slacking on the blog site. Actually, we've been so busy having fun that we can't seem to sit still long enough to get you all caught up! Yes, life has been very busy! But there has been so much fun. This week-end was a perfect example. Friday Bar-B-Q at Lyle & Karen's place to see Steve, Lori & Karissa, friends from Washington.

We always have a roving photographer at our family gatherings, and this event was no exception. Errol has a new toy (oh, okay, it's a highly technical piece of equipment...) so he had to test drive it. Here's some of the results:Mom enjoying the family fun

Shannon enjoying the red licorice

Brie, asking Mom & Dad if they managed to get their shoes on so that she can go home...

The week-end was gorgeous, so we even managed to try out our neighbors new pool with them. Sorry we don't have any photos but with all the kids (and Dad's) diving, everyone ended up very wet, so a camera was definitely not a good idea.
Then Sunday evening we went and brought mom to our place to help us enjoy dinner in our backyard on a gorgeous evening. We sat and listened to all the birds singing and felt very blessed.
That night Errol & I went to bed fairly early (for us) and were just getting into a deep sleep when we suddenly were awakened to a VERY LOUD insistent knocking on our front door. I was so annoyed that I wondered out loud why they didn't just ring the doorbell! Errol stumbled to the door and stands there announcing, "It's LOREN!" Wow, I was out of bed in a flash and there was Loren, Wes & Brad. We didn't even mind that it was midnight. Monday morning we went over and got mom again so we could all have breakfast together at our place before the boys headed off on their long trip. What a great way to start this new week!

So, they were on the road again! Shanda we missed not getting to see you but glad you were "keeping the home fires burning". We look forward to seeing you all in a few weeks!

Now I'd better get back to the work I was supposed to have finished by Monday evening, but hey, it's important to enjoy the moments that make this life worth while. The work will always be there, I imagine! Enjoy your week

Wow, more visitors that we know! (Halls). Our daughter Caroline was pretty thick with Karissa last year at Milltown...Caroline was sitting with them Saturday night (way in the southeast corner). She stood up when the meeting was tested, so guess she thought it would be less embarrassing to not be sitting with her parents and sister!

Great picture also of Glenna's mom! -Shirley
